Joseph Burke has been Director, Finance at the NYC Leadership Academy since 2007. He began on an outsourced basis working for Kiwi Partners and then as a full-time NYCLA employee.
Joe is responsible for all aspects of the NYC Leadership Academy’s financial operations including preparing, presenting, and analyzing the organization’s financial statements, managing the month-end and year-end closing activities, coordinating the annual audit and assisting with the annual budgeting and planning processes, as well as overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Finance Department. Prior to joining NYCLA, Joe was the Controller at the South Street Seaport Museum, his first role in nonprofit accounting. He also served as an Accounting Manager for Gordon’s Jewelers and Zale Corporation.
He received a BBA in Accounting and Finance from Pace University.
