Gregory is an educator and coach who enjoys the challenge of working to change the educational possibilities for young people and their families. After having collaborated with many youth development organizations, Gregory is committed to and sees the great hope in creating a new generation of school leaders. Principals are not only the educational leaders of their schools but the person who holds the vision of what education is for and can be in the lives of his or her students. This is an exciting journey where learning and reflection, struggle and change are at the heart of the work.
Gregory holds an MA from SUNY StonyBrook in Social Psychology with an emphasis on understanding communities. Education for social justice and empowerment are at the center of his thinking and practice. As a faculty member in Education Studies at the New School University, Gregory founded the High School College Collaborative connecting area high schools to the resources of the University. He had the opportunity to work with and write about Paulo Freire, whose work inspires him and demonstrates what education can become.
