Associate Director, Leadership Development
Neil Ferner was promoted in 2014 to Associate Director of the Leadership Advancement Program, supporting the team to create and implement a standards-based program with high expectations deliverable to the NYCDOE.
Neil joined the NYC Leadership Academy in 2007 as an Aspiring Principals Program summer intern. This experience helped him to appreciate the mission and vision of changing the NYC’s public education system for underserved youth.
Upon graduating from college Neil worked in multiple positions at NYCLA including working on NYCLA’s National team consulting for the Delaware School District’s Aspiring Principal Program as well as Providence’s school district.
Neil grew up in Brooklyn, NY and is a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High school. He graduated with a BA in Philosophy from SUNY College at Brockport in Brockport, NY. He looks to continually learn so he can enhance the work of NYC leaders.
