Sharon joined NYC Leadership Academy as a coach/facilitator in 2006. Prior to this, Sharon worked in the NYC school system for 34 years, including serving as the principal of a secondary special education school for 10 years and as an assistant principal for seven years. Sharon coaches several new principals in NYC, and on a national level, she facilitates professional development sessions, particularly around coaching.
Sharon holds a BA from Mount Saint College, an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Professional Diploma from St. John’s University. In 2005, she was awarded the Learning for Life Excellence in Education Award, and in 1998, she was selected as the district representative to attend the Summer Institute on Leadership and New Technologies at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
