Valerie Vallade is a retired New York City high school principal who has been a NYC Leadership Academy Coach/Facilitator since 2006. She has provided coaching support to both novice and experienced principals, including those who are founding principals of new small schools. She has designed and facilitated training sessions for NSI principals on such topics as time management, facilitative leadership, and other aspects of the principalship. She has also participated in National Work Initiatives in Missouri (session design, webinars), Buffalo, and Delaware.
Valerie was an adjunct at the Leadership Preparation Institute of Bank Street College of Education for six years, where she taught and mentored aspiring school leaders. She has a particular interest in supporting student achievement (with special emphasis on males of color) through the effective use of data and instructional/empowerment initiatives. She has been a member of the Eagle Academy Foundation Advisory Board since its inception.
