Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Karim brings over 20 years of financial management experience and expertise to the NYC Leadership Academy. In this role, Karim is responsible for the financial stewardship of the organization, including financial planning, budgeting, monitoring of financial performance, grant management, procurement and debt/treasury management.
Prior to joining NYCLA, Karim was Director of Capital Finance for Columbia University in the City of New York. In this role he directed the financial and administrative operations of the University’s Capital portfolio. He also served as Secretary of the Physical Assets Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Karim also held senior level position with The Partnership for the Homeless as CFO, Legal Services for NYC as Controller and PricewaterhouseCoopers as Audit Senior Associate.
Karim is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds an MBA degree from St. John’s University in New York City and a BS degree from the University of the West Indies.
