Experienced Principal Coaching Menu:
Full Year Coaching Options: 1:1 or Group
1:1 Coaching
1:1 Coaching is our most flexible and comprehensive coaching option; you can select a full year of 1:1 Coaching in 36, 48 or 60 hour packages and also opt to purchase additional hours of coaching thereafter. In consultation with your coach, you will set concrete outcome goals that connect to an overall school improvement strategy. Coaching is highly customizable and can have school-wide impact; for example, Leadership Academy coaches are available to work with all types of school teams—cabinets, school leadership teams, assistant principals, and parent groups. Similarly, your Coaching can focus on general school leadership topics (mapped to the NYC School Leadership Competencies), or focus on particular school leadership areas you’d like to develop or explore, such as data-driven instruction or how to develop a professional learning community.
You can also plan and hold retreats with four to eight school members -- your cabinet, a department, students, or parents. Retreats are intensive, day-long sessions that offer you and your team the opportunity to focus on what’s most important in your work: you can use retreats to provide professional development or strategy sessions that address specific projects and goals. You set the retreat goals and agenda in consultation with your coach. The 48-hour package includes one day-long leadership retreat; the 60-hour package includes two day-long leadership retreats. Participants can add additional retreats to all three 1:1 Coaching packages.
Group Coaching
You can select a full year of Group Coaching that allows four or more principal colleagues to meet together with their coach throughout the year. Like 1:1 Coaching, Group Coaching sessions can address general leadership issues or target school leadership areas you and your colleagues would like to develop or explore. You and your colleagues can also use sessions to review student work and share strategies. Group Coaching members can purchase retreats individually for themselves and their school teams. Project-Based Coaching
Whether you are developing a school-wide discipline strategy, navigating a new budget, or developing your Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP), our Project-Based Coaching options provide you with a means of meeting concrete leadership goals.
You can purchase Project-Based Coaching for as few as seven hours (one day). You can also use it anytime within a pre-designated month and additional days of Project-Based Coaching are optional.

Pending availability, you may request a particular coach to work with you or be assigned one based on school level and type, your leadership development needs and other pertinent factors. Leadership Academy coaching for first-year principals is paid for by the DOE central budget. Coaching for experienced principals is priced based on the type of service desired.
