Learn More about NYCLA's New National Aspiring Principals Program at Upcoming Informational Webinars

April 11, 2016

Enrollment for NYCLA's national Aspiring Principals Program is currently underway. Join us for a free introductory webinar to learn more about this innovative program that will support school districts in developing high-quality principals and principal pipelines.

Made possible through generous support from American Express (Amex) and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), this rigorous program will provide aspiring leaders from different school districts with the experiences and skills necessary to transform school cultures, build capacity, and improve student outcomes. Almost half of the cost for this first cohort is being subsidized by Amex and NASSP.

This program is an adaptation of our nationally recognized Aspiring Principals Program (APP) model, which leverages standards-based and experiential learning to develop school leaders committed to closing the opportunity gap. Program components include a multi-week summer intensive followed by an ongoing blended learning component comprised of online and in-person sessions and a school-based ‘practicum’ within the educators’ home districts. The program will be tailored to the leadership needs of each aspiring leader and customized for the districts they serve.
