Compared to other principals, our principals serve more low-income students (65.9% free lunch eligible) and Black and Hispanic (85.4%) students, with more inexperienced teachers (52.9% with <2 years), according to an independent study by the Institute for Education and Social Policy at New York University.

After being coached for their first three years, coached principals were retained for a fourth year of school leadership in the district, while only 76% of principals who did not elect to be coached were retained.
