Over the past six years, the NYC Leadership Academy has evolved from a programmatically focused service provider to a strategic capacity development organization with system-wide impact. In addition to our leadership development and support programs for aspiring and early-career principals, we work closely with New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE) to design and implement school improvement strategies, establish school leadership standards that identify what principals need to know and be able to do to improve instruction and learning, and improve the conditions that bear on principals’ capacity to improve teaching and learning. To ensure alignment with evolving NYCDOE leadership needs and priorities, the Leadership Academy continuously adapts its program curricula and coach training.
