Now in its sixth year, the NYC Leadership Academy's Aspiring Principals Program (APP) continues to recruit, select and prepare aspiring New York City public school leaders. APP is a 14-month leadership development program that uses teamwork, simulated-school projects and job-embedded learning opportunities to prepare participants to lead instructional improvement efforts in New York City’s high-need public schools.
I learned from the Leadership Academy that the principalship is a service position. These parents have dreams for their kids. It’s our job to help them realize those dreams.
