The NYC Leadership Academy currently offers the following leadership development programs for aspiring and early-career principals:
Aspiring Principals Program (APP)
The Aspiring Principals Program (APP) recruits, selects and prepares educators to become New York City public school leaders—leaders who are deeply committed to closing the achievement gap and developing creative solutions to the most challenging school problems. APP is a rigorous 14-month program that melds theory and research with expert school leadership practice. New School Intensive (NSI)
Recognizing the unique support and leadership development principals need to launch and lead new small schools, the Leadership Academy, in collaboration with the NYC Department of Education (NYCDOE), has developed New School Intensive (NSI). NSI offers professional development support to new school leaders during their school development stage and into their first four years of the principalship. In my family, I’m the first to attend college. I now feel honored to be in the principal position, and being in the Leadership Academy made this possible.
