Recognitions

The Leadership Academy has been invited to present on our leader development, coaching and equity work at numerous national conferences, including NASSP/NAESP National Principals Conference, ALAS, AERA, AASA, American Evaluation Association, National Principal Supervisors Summit, and Pacific Education Group.

The Bush Institute named the The Leadership Academy an exemplary program and member of its Alliance to Reform Education Leadership (AREL), which seeks to enhance and empower the performance of America’s school principals as a means to impact student achievement.

National Governor’s Association features the The Leadership Academy in its paper, “Promising Practices in Boosting School Leadership Capacity: Principal Academies.”

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo appoints The Leadership Academy President & CEO Irma Zardoya to the NY Education Reform Commission to work with other nationally-recognized education, community, and business leaders to improve education for every New York student.

The groundbreaking documentary series, A Year of Change: Leadership in the Principal’s Office, goes behind-the-scenes to follow three aspiring principals enrolled in the New York City Leadership Academy as they find out if they have what it takes to run a New York City public school.

The Rainwater Leadership Alliance highlighted The Leadership Academy as providing innovative principal preparation practices in the Rainwater Leadership Alliance’s New Approach to Principal Preparation report.
