The National Summit for Principal Supervisors has selected the NYC Leadership Academy to facilitate the Pre-Conference Institute at its third annual summit on April 25. Leadership Academy Vice President of District Leadership Support Mary Rice-Boothe and Chief Strategy Officer Nancy Gutiérrez will lead the interactive Pre-Conference professional learning session. Designed for new and aspiring principal supervisors, the four-hour session will walk leaders through some of the critical work involved in supervising principals:

  • Collecting and analyzing classroom observation data using an equity walkthrough tool
  • Practicing coaching for equity strategies
  • Reflecting on and practicing equity leadership
  • Developing next steps and commitments necessary to lead for equity

For 15 years, the Leadership Academy has supported school and school systems leaders across 32 states in building their capacity to lead schools that ensure each child has access to the learning opportunities they need to excel. Through our Foundations of Principal Supervision program alone we have trained principal supervisors from 21 districts who have reached more than 700 principals and close to half a million students.

The National Summit for Principal Supervisors offers K-12 superintendents, district leadership staff, principal supervisors, and aspiring principal supervisors from across the nation the opportunity to engage in professional learning aimed at improving the outcomes of school principals. The Pre-Conference Institute will be held on April 25 from 7 a.m. to noon at the Westin Beach Resort and Spa. Registration ends Monday, March 26.
