This month, Hurricane Sandy left many in her path along the East Coast on a long road to recovery.  Not only were homes destroyed and families displaced, but many NYC schools were affected as well.  However times of great obstacles also represent times of great humanity and our community of school leaders took immediate action to give students a safe place to return.  Read the story of Brian O’Connell, Principal of the Scholar’s Academy in Rockaway Park who was displaced by the storm, as he worked with Sabrina Fleming, Principal of P.S. 13 in Brooklyn and a NYC Leadership Academy graduate from 2011, to bring their schools under one roof and to help students overcome great challenges in the wake of the hurricane.
