Foundations of Principal Supervision is a yearlong program that brings together principal supervisors from across the country. It is comprised of three learning components:
- Summer institute: July 16-20, 2018
- Virtual learning community
- Mid-year convening: Spring 2019 (location TBD – outside NY)
Foundations focuses on specific skills and competencies crucial to the principal supervisor role, including leading for instruction, developing principals through coaching, and leading effective professional learning. Participants practice these skills in authentic simulations and receive feedback from instructors and peers. During the program, principal supervisors work with real data from their districts, giving them practical experience that reflects challenges they will encounter on the job and the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming school year.
