October to May
District leaders charged with developing leadership; leaders of coaching programs; university faculty who coach aspiring leaders and graduates
In this blended learning course, participants strengthen their understanding and application of effective leadership coaching strategies and their ability to support others to do the same.
Coupled with one-on-one coaching support and feedback, this program prepares participants to deliver great coaching; support others in growing their coaching practice; and cultivate a culture of leadership development within their district, charter network or organization. Giving and receiving feedback on coaching practice, in the time-honored master class format, is a hallmark of this experience.
With a strong focus on equity, participants will help their coachees set leadership goals that advance equitable practice and align with school and district priorities. They will model effective reflective practice and support their school leaders or staff in building strong reflective habits. They will learn to develop and support a community of practice around effective leadership development.
Program components include:
- Four 90-minute virtual meetings in which participants engage in activities and facilitated content
- Four individual one-hour coaching calls with a Leadership Academy master coach
- Four rounds of video observation with feedback from a peer, a master coach and the entire cohort
- Two-day in-person meeting at the start of the program
